As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I work with individuals, couples and families from a systemic point of view. This approach takes into consideration the bigger picture including many factors which helped to shape who you are, your beliefs/values and behavioral responses as well.
I graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelors Degree in Public Health, Specialization in Health Promotion and a Master's in Family Therapy. I am a certified Gestalt therapist, which uses creative exercises to help bring about awareness, insight and change.
I have also been trained and certified as an Approved Supervisor by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. I offer case supervision to clinicians in the field of psychotherapy.
Having been married for more than 30 years, I understand what it means to work at a longterm relationship, raise children, and the challenges that can naturally arise. I have a passion for working with couples and partners to help them improve their connection and increase intimacy. To facilitate the process, I use my advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) which was developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, PHD. EFT is a therapy model based on Attachement Theory and grounded in the latest research in neuroscience on love and relationships. Dr. Sue Johnson stated in her latest book entitled Love Sense, that "forming deep mutual bonds is the first imperative of the human species."
